By MikeB
I bought this LASER-flashlight combo recently due to its pressure switch and the ability to have both a light and a LASER in one package. The mount is well made and sturdy. The laser is small but powerfull enough. The light is underpowered. You won't be blinding anyone with this light but it will allow you to navigate in the dark. The pressure switches can be a bit tempermental but they do work. Essentially, the pressure ribbon has many small buttons underneith it which will trigger the light or the LASER. There is self adhesive tape on the otherside of the rippon. The cords are long enough for most applications. In addition, the cables/pressure switches can be swaped out with the included on/off switches for always on light and/or LASER.

I have been ordering everything I can from Amazon for many years now, but never felt the need to review anything... until now.
I recently purchased my first firearm, a Winchester SXP Black Shadow 12 gauge shotgun for home defense. In a high pressure situation such as home invasions (which usually occur at night), I wanted a simple, yet solid flashlight and laser solution to go with my simple and solid firearm. Unfortunately, Winchester shotguns are notorious for having virtually 0 accessories made for them. I found a random youtube video of a guy who put this Barska laser/light combo on a similar Winchester shotgun, and considering the price I figured I'd give it a go. Boy am I happy I did!
I was able to attach the mount to the front end of my shotgun's magazine tube, which looks extremely clean. It looks like it was made for this gun. The mount comes with two different top halfs of the mounting ring that you can choose from depending on your gun's design. I chose to use the slimmer of the two top halves because the space between the magazine tube and barrel is very narrow. In fact, I had to attach the mount to the mag tube with the barrel removed because one of the mount's two screws was in the way of the barrel until the screw was tightened down. That's how close of a fit it is. If I had chosen to mount this to the barrel the spacing/fit would have been much easier - but I didn't like the look or the weight distribution of a mount/laser/light hanging off the side of my barrel.
The mount, light and laser all feel extremely solid and well built. I chose not to use the pressure switches as I wanted to eliminate any potential for getting tangled in wires, or wires getting caught in moving parts. Again, as this is a home defense shotgun I wanted something solid and idiot proof for when stuff goes down and the need arises to use the gun. In my opinion the pressure switches and wires also make the gun look messy.
My only suggestion, and the reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars, is the lack of "padding"/protectant on the mounting ring. With the metal mounting ring clamping down onto a metal mag tube (or metal barrel), and the recoil and vibrations of a shotgun, it is inevitable that your gun will get scratched by this mount. As a solution, I took an unused iphone screen protector (clear vinyl) and lined the mounting ring with it (cut the screen protector down to size and into two pieces - one piece for the top half of the ring and one piece for the bottom half - so I can still take the ring apart if I need to remove the mount from the gun). The screen protector is thin enough that the mount still attaches to the gun perfectly - and being that it is clear you can't even see it is there. Using a cut-to-size clear vinyl screen protector also has the added benefit of adding a bit of "stickiness"/"grippiness" against the mag tube, so the mount has even less chance of moving due to recoil or vibrations.

The flashlight, laser sight and mount are great by themselves. The pressure switches are a neat idea, but they add way too much cordage to be effective in a dire situation. You'll be getting tangled up and confused with all those cables, so my advice is to simply mount the lights at the end of your barrel, close enough so that you can click them on and off with the forefinger of whichever hand you rely on to steady the barrell. In that instance these things are great and effective, making any near sighted Bozo a cracker jack behind the trigger.
