When designed they either added material to one end or subtracted material from the other and didnt realize that the entire action side needed to be cut at an angle to fit flush front to back. I have a .020 gap at rear. Used an 800 grit lapping compound to check the fit and only touched at very front and the front of the rear portion, way to much to try to lap fit. Will not try to return seeing as I tried to lap it but not a total loss will cut it in half and mount it on the bottom for a bipod rail. Should have bought another nightforce mount instead of trying tto cut corners and save money.

This rails system is not only economical but it's a great product too. I'm using it on a Remington 700, it mounted effortlessly, and the hardware matched up great. Also NO problems with extracting rounds.
